Plugg's Storage App allows you to create an electronic version of your lab's physical storage, and lets you easily track the exact location of anything in your lab, from a freezer to a single tube or sample. You can even recreate entire rooms or map out your whole lab.

The Storage App is fully customizable, has no pre-defined hierarchy or structure, and is composed of three main elements: Locations (e.g., a room, a freezer, or a liquid nitrogen tank), Sub-locations (e.g., a shelf, a rack, or a box), and Items (e.g., a tube, a bottle, an instrument, etc).

Inside each location it is possible to nest as many sub-locations as needed, while items are the last step in your storage organization and cannot have sub-locations.

Map view, Tree view, and search box

The Storage App provides both a map view (right side) and a tree view (left side) representation of your physical storage.

To navigate through the storage, you can simply click on the locations to access your sub-locations and your items.

The bar at the top of the Storage App allows you to easily check where you are in the storage at any time, and you can also use it to navigate back to previous locations:

Alternatively, you can use the tree representation to show the content of multiple locations and sub-locations at once (just use the + and - buttons to open/close your locations and sub-locations).

Finally, the search box allows you to locate any location or item in the storage and navigate directly to it. Simply start typing the name of the location or item you want to find and a scroll down menu will show you all the matching results. Click on the name of the location or item you are looking for to be directly redirected to it:
