The Vector Stocks app is used as an example in this guide; the import workflow is identical across all Plugg apps.

Prerequisites

Before creating vector stocks, ensure that your vectors have already been added to the Vectors collection. If they have not, you will need to create or import your vectors first.

Once your vectors are available in the collection, follow the steps below to import their associated stocks.

1. Create a storage location

Set up the destination location in the Storage app where the stocks will be stored (for example, a freezer box).

2. Prepare your import CSV

Download the Vector Stocks CSV template from the app and populate the required fields below (all other fields are optional):

Location System ID

The unique identifier of the storage location where the stock will be stored.

To find it: open the Storage app, right-click the destination location (for example, a box), and select Copy System ID.

Position (if applicable)

The position of the stock within the location.

Supported formats:

  • A1, A2, B1, etc.
  • 1, 2, 3, etc.

If you need to create multiple stocks of the same vector within the same storage location (for example, several tubes stored in the same freezer box), you only need a single row in the CSV file. Enter all desired positions in the Position field, separated by commas.

Important: This only works when all positions belong to the same storage location (i.e., the same Location System ID). If stocks need to be stored in different locations, a separate row is required for each location.

Content Name

The Vector ID or name, as it appears in the Vectors app.

Content System ID

The Vector System ID, a unique identifier of the vector in Plugg.

To find it, open your vector and click on Info (upper right corner):

Tip: If you are importing stocks for multiple vectors, export your Vectors collection to CSV first. You can then copy and paste the Vector IDs and Vector System IDs directly into the stocks import file.

3. Upload the CSV

Open the Vector Stocks app and upload the completed CSV file to start the import.

Important Note

CSV imports run as a background process and may take several minutes to complete, depending on the number of records being imported.

You may continue working in other areas of Plugg while the import is running. However, do not close or refresh your browser tab until the import is complete, as this will cancel the process.
